World Philosophy Day 2022
- This year 2022, New Acropolis joined the celebration proclaimed by UNESCO during the month of November with a common theme for its more than 400 branches around the world: THE LANGUAGE OF SYMBOLS.
- Approached from very different angles, we wanted to unravel that universal language of the symbol that, surpassing all languages, speaks to human beings about the universality of our inner reality.
- Through conferences, workshops, interviews, theater, music, reading clubs, or congresses, around 22,930 people gathered in person, eager to learn and, above all, share the same philosophical concerns with others.
- We worked with more than one hundred allies, opening spaces and building bridges with museums, universities, companies, schools, theaters, renowned philosophers and other civil society organizations to promote philosophical reflection together.
- Regarding the audience that attended the activities presented in digital media, radio, TV, visits to exhibitions, etc., an approximate number of 254,300 people was reached.
All of this confirms the idea that being a philosopher is not the same as studying Philosophy. A Philosophy that is not felt, that is not loved, a knowledge that does not move us, that does not make us vibrate, what is it for? It’s very little. We need our neurons to vibrate, but also our hearts.
According to Prof. Delia Steinberg Guzmán, we need to agree on what we think, what we feel and what we do, and when these three elements agree, then we are philosophers.
